Not a lot of people know about me, but I am what I am. Wrote my first joint when I was 14 … Solicited labels with original material … Got my deal off of original material. Over the course of the 3 years, it took to record the album, I eased up and became open to the idea of co-writing ... I love it now, its fun and challenging. Good stuff! What I don't like is having records "handed" to me. I understand that there are great songwriters and song-writing teams out there. But I like to be around for the creation of a record! I loathe showing up to the studio to find out the record is done. What?! It's over?! I missed the party?! Can I at least change that line with the sexual reference? I like to be there when it's nothing but a click or a drum loop. I like to see my babies develop! (I'm not crazy though, I will accept a GREAT record written by someone else in a flash, but all records aren't great and a lot of stuff that's offered to me- I feel like I could've done myself?) I even feel it when I perform. If I wasn't a part of a record I've gotta work EXTRA hard to bring it on stage. There's a disconnect! Up and coming group Electrik Red have renamed their debut album from "Electrik Love" to "How to Be A Lady – Volume 1", and will release it on 24^th March via Def Jam Records. Executively produced by Christopher "Tricky" Stewart ["From My Heart to Yours" – Laura Izibor / "Case of the Ex" – Mya Harrison] and Terius "The Dream" Nash ["Lemme Get That" – Rihanna Fenty / "All I Need" – Sterling Simms], the set is earmarked to include songs such as "Drink in My Cup", "We Fuck You", "Friend Lover" and new single "So Good", which will be released digitally on 3^rd February via iTunes.

Geffen recording group Brick & Lace posted a new remix to their hit single "Love is Wicked" on their official MySpace profile, so make sure you check it out! The rejuvenated track features hitmakers Let's Go to War – the same team behind Britney Spears' "Mmm Papi", taken from the artist's latest album, "Circus".

Long story short, in August 2007 I tried out for American Idol. Got far into the process and then was told I "was very talented but didn't fit the mold of an idol!" Harsh, huh? Nah! It only pushed me to want to do better in all that I do, and now I have that chance! I met so many amazing people along the way, and some shared a similar vision to mine. Where is the music I had up and took off quickly? I decided that the only way something will be getting leaked from my end, is if someone hacks my email. I refuse to allow the hard work that goes into a song to be put out for the masses without being ready. I'm sure you can Google Me (Cristyle "The Ink" Johnson & Dean killed that record) because there are so many articles out there with the wrong information. I am yet to have the pleasure to co-write with some of the people that I've been mentioned alongside. "Slashin Ya Tires" was not a writer collaboration at all!
