CRAIG DAVID BACK IN THE STUDIO ...

My second husband British R&B crooner Craig David is currently recording his 4th album which is expected to come out in the fourth quarter of 2007, and it has been reported that he’s working with producer Dallas Austin. Even though we haven’t seen Austin in the charts recently, he did belt out some of the most memorable hits of 2005, most notably with British girlband Sugababes’ “Push The Button” and “Ugly”, so I’m sure when Dallas and David hit the studio, nothing but magic will be created!
Craig’s last album “The Story Goes” spawned hits like “All The Way” and “Unbelievable”, as well as collaborations with producers Mark Hill (Christina Milian, Michelle Escoffery), The Underdogs (Beyonce, Fantasia), Mark Taylor (Delta Goodrem, Keisha White) and songwriter Rick Nowels (Dido, Celine Dion).

HUDSON AND HOUSTON ENLIST TOP PRODUCERS FOR NEXT ALBUMS

Source
J Records label head Clive Davis is launching not one, but two of the most awaited albums of 2007, the first being Whitney Houston's comeback album and it has been confirmed that she already collaborated with producers Jermaine Dupri (Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson), Babyface (Madonna, Tamia), R Kelly (Celine Dion, Syleena Johnson) as well as songwriter Diane Warren, who penned a new hit for Houston called "I Didn't Know How Much Strength I Had". The other awaited album is of former American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson, and the songwriter/producer who's on top of her list is none other than the multi-talented Ne-Yo, whose recent success with Beyonce's "Irreplaceable", Rihanna's "Unfaithful" and Paula DeAnda's "Walk Away" got him to book additional studio time with pop stars Britney Spears, Enrique Iglesias and Celine Dion. Which album are you looking forward to more?

VELEZ JAMZ WITH STORCH ON DEBUT ALBUM

Source
Video vixen Gloria Velez is currently recording her debut album with mega producer Scott Storch (Jessica Simpson, Brooke Hogan, Nelly Furtado), and even though I haven't heard her voice, I must admit that I'm looking forward to what she has in store cuz if Storch can make Paris Hilton sound good, then he can do wonders with Velez as well .... In the meantime, here's what she had to say about appearing on rapper The Game's "Wouldn't Get Far" video:
"Actually, he's not really dissing me in the video," she explained. "He's actually giving props, telling the video vixen she's trying to be Gloria Velez. So he's giving me big ups. I had to show him love and actually we're friends".
Fans of Storch should also look out for his productions on the upcoming albums by Silena Murrell, Kelly Rowland, Britney Spears, Mya, Mario Barrett, Nina Sky, as well as songwriters J. Valentine and Johnta Austin.

INTRODUCING - PARIS "THE ROCK CHICK"

Source
Paris Hilton has decided to turn into a "Rock Chick" for her upcoming sophomore LP, and even though not much has been revealed yet, she did confirm that a cover of Kim Wilde’s “Kids In America” will be on the album. Hilton also mentioned in previous interviews that “Daddy’s Little Girl”, a track she did with producer Scott Storch, will be on the track list as well. Believe it or not, but I’m currently listening to her debut “Paris”, which I bought few months back (and I still remember the look on the cute salesman’s face when he saw me carrying it, hee hee), so watch out for a detailed review next week

[MONICA MANIA INTERVIEW] TORI ALAMAZE

Sexy songstress Tori Alamaze is no stranger to the music business, as she was a backing vocalist to R&B/Hip Hop duo Outkast. Most of you know her as the original performer of "Don't Cha" and "Take Control", which were later given by producer Cee-Lo to The Pussycat Dolls and Amerie. Fresh with a new start, Ms. Alamaze is currently working on her 2nd album, planning to release a new mixtape this February, and the video for her new single "Freaky Boys" has already been shot. I've caught up with lovely singer to talk about the music industry, indie labels vs. major labels, working with Cee-Lo, and much more … Enjoy, and don't forget to post your thoughts :)
When did you start your musical career professionally?
I've always worked in entertainment as I began my career as a makeup artist, but I started taking the artist side seriously probably in 2000.
Your music is heavily influenced by girl group Vanity 6. Are you a big fan?
Lol! … What I love about the music I create is that it usually reminds someone of a group/artist they admire… So thank u for the comparison to Vanity6!
For those who came in late, "Don't Cha" by the Pussycat Dolls and "Take Control" by Amerie were both originally performed by Tori Alamaze. Is it true that most of the songs given by producer Cee-Lo to female artists are Tori Alamaze left-overs? And what do you think of Amerie's and Pussycat Dolls' versions?
I wouldn't say leftovers, however the songs are inauthentic copies of my style.
Will we see you working with Cee-Lo again?
When the time is convenient for the both of us, Sure!
Are you currently recording a new album? If so, when is it coming out?
I have a mixtape coming out soon. In February, I'll be having a mixtape release party in Atlanta, Ga.
Those who visit your MySpace profile can listen to your track "Freaky Boys". Tell us about that song? And how did it come about?
I was totally inspired by Klymaax. The song is fun, and I hope my fans receive it well.
Whom have you worked with in terms of producers/songwriters? And whom would you like to hook up with in the future?
Right now I'm working with producers signed with Purple Ribbon Records here in Atlanta.
What do you think of the new trend of underrated artists switching from major labels to independent labels?
Sometimes there may be a bit more "freedom" with indies. It's all individual though.
If you were given a choice to join any major label of your choice, which one would you choose?
Any label that believes in me & the music and gets me as a marketing product Im with it!
If you could do a duet with a living artist, whom would you choose?
Martin Luther.
What does Tori look for in a man?
I like nerds … really smart guys!
Even though I've been hearing your music for more than a year or so, I've seen your pictures for the first time on MySpace, and you're very beautiful, Mashallah. What's your secret?
Sleep!
Tell us a few things that most people will be surprised to learn about you? And do you have any secret talents?
Most people are usually shocked to hear that I'm really shy and I'm a great back-cracker!
Have you thought about visiting any Arabic country? If so, which country is on top of your list?
I'd love to come hang out with you in your country! ( I'd love that too )
Is there any message you'd like to give to your fans all over the world?
The support all over the world is amazing. I must thank everyone for their support! Keep supporting authentic music!
