Aiden Grimshaw has announced the title and release date for his upcoming debut album.

The British singer/songwriter will release “Misty Eye” in the United Kingdom on August 20 via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records. Lead single “Is This Love” was written by Aiden Grimshaw along with Jarrad Rogers and Athlete frontman Joel Pott.

Chantel McCrary is an upcoming singer/songwriter.

She's currently working on her debut album with super producer Kenneth "Soundz" Coby, whose credits include "4 Letter Word" by Diggy Simmons [Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records], "Out of Town Girl" by Justin Bieber [Universal Music Group / Def Jam Records], "Heavy Rotation" by Ciara [Sony Music Entertainment / Jive Records] and "Skin" by Rihanna [Universal Music Group / Def Jam Records].

June 15 marks the premiere date for Chantel's video "Sending My Love" – a song made famous by Zhane in 1994 – and new single "Nothing on Me."

Hamada: When did you discover your passion for singing and performing?

Chantel: My entire family has always done music, so I was exposed to singing and playing instruments at a very young age. My grandparents had their own church, so that gave me a chance to sing in the choir every Sunday.
 
Hamada: What can we expect from your upcoming debut album?

Chantel: Good R&B music. I grew up in the 90's when that feel-good R&B really thrived, so that decade of music had a huge influence on my sound.
 
Hamada: Whom did you collaborate with on the project in terms of songwriters and producers?

Chantel: Well the album is still in the creative process, but I've primarily been working with Grammy nominated producer/songwriter Kenneth "Soundz" Coby. We've really just been vibing and writing all the songs together. I do have a crazy song with producer Young Fyre.

Hamada: Are there any other musicians you'd like to collaborate with in the near future?

Chantel: Yes! Andrew "Pop" Wansel, Warren "Oak" Felder, Chauncey "Hit-Boy" Hollis, and Da Internz.
 
Hamada: List some of your favorite recorded songs so far (with liner notes about each one of them).

Chantel: Oh man! There are so many amazing songs, it's hard to choose. But "Nothing on Me," "24 Hours," "Good Ones" and "Grinding" are definitely some of my favorites.
 
Hamada: Tell us about your new single "Sending My Love."

Chantel: It's such a feel-good song. Kinda like that jam that can be played all summer at any party, cookout, or whatever!

Hamada: Whose idea was it to cover such a classic song?

Chantel: That was actually Soundz idea. We wanted to just put something out to give listeners a little taste of what's to come.

Hamada: If you could record a duet with a male and female artist, whom would you consider as your main picks?

Chantel: I Love, Love, Love Missy Elliot. It would be so dope to do a song with her. I would love to do something with Jeremih as well. He's such a dope writer and I think we could come up with something crazy.

Hamada: Which artists are you currently listening to?

Chantel: Aaliyah, Drake, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Adele, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Tracy Chapman, Kanye West.
 
Hamada: Tell us something that most readers will be surprised to learn about you.

Chantel: Hmmm, well I've been playing piano and composing my own music since I was about 7 years old.
 
Hamada: What are the qualities that you look for in a partner?

Chantel: Confident but humble, open-minded, gotta be goal-oriented, good sense of fashion, and he has to have a big sense of humor. I'm such a goofball, so if you can't laugh at my jokes, you gots ta go! Lol.
 
Hamada: If you weren't a singer/songwriter, which alternative career you would have pursued?

Chantel: I love to cook! And I'm obsessed with health and nutrition. So I've always said I would either be a chef or a nutritionist if I didn't do music.
 
Hamada: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

Chantel: I see myself being a successful artist, traveling and performing all over the world. I just see myself really enjoying life doing what I love to do. I honestly can't see myself doing anything but music
