Entry: MYA GOES HEAD 2 HEAD WITH MARIO BARRETT Thursday, January 25, 2007



Sexy songstress Mya confirmed to fellow blogging site Rap-Up that “Lock You Down” featuring Lil Wayne will indeed be the lead single from her upcoming fourth album “Liberation”, and it's scheduled to be shot in LA next month. The track was produced by Scott Storch (Toni Braxton, Silena Murrell), and co-written by Makeba Riddick(Jessica Simpson, LeToya Luckett). “Liberation” also includes additional collaborations with rapper The Game, songwriter Johnta Austin (Trey Songz, Fantasia), as well as producers Bryan Michael Cox (Ciara, Gwen Stefani) and Johnathan Rotem (Britney Spears, Rihanna).

 

It’s also important to note that since “Liberation” is going to be released on May 8th, which also means that Mya is battling it out with R&B crooner Mario Barrett, who is also releasing his 3rd album “Go!” on the same date! Do you think Ms. Harrison has what it takes to win this fierce battle?

oh please he is not gonna take it!! the last hit he had was let me love you! which btw was a one hit wonder! mya has been in the game too long for him to ruin her. she has many many fans around the world. I noticed that ppl are like she gone, yest when she realeses someting ppl are like oh i love mya!!! you all like her and u know it!! watch it and i bet u will cop her album!

Mya didnt drop a single. lock u down leaked but will be released offical on Febuary 27.

Mario's Crying Out For Me has been already released to radio.

wassup mon,

i agree with Emblematic....mario shouldn't have anything to worry about when it comes to mya. but maro problem is that he still hasn't dropped a single yet. wassup with that. don't get me wrong i heard clips from the album like how do i breathe, go and crying..but drop a single already.

Well, in my opinion, unlike her looks, Mya's career has started to fade. She's just not selling the way she once did. I don't think she gets promoted as she should and her lead singles usually don't come and as hard as they should.

I think Mario is going to take it...especially if he comes out with "How Do I Breathe" as his lead single because that is still one of my favorite songs and I have been listening to it for a long time now.
