Entry: DEANDA WALKS AWAY WITH NEYO ON 3RD SINGLE Saturday, February 10, 2007

Teen pop star Paula DeAnda will release "When It Was Me" as the 3rd single from her self titled debut album. The track was co-written by NeYo (Megan Rochelle, Rihanna) and produced by Shea Taylor (Ruben Studdard, Wynter Gordon). DeAnda is also enjoying the unexpected success of "Walk Away", which was also co-written by NeYo with additional help from songstress Christina Milian and production team Stargate.

Hey Random, thanx for the comment. I also agree with you as both "WALK AWAY" and "THE ONE YOU NEED" would have been excellent for her .... I wish her all the best with her new album though ... Rumor has it that she's working with Rotem, but I'm not too keen on his productions ... I like his body a lot more, hee hee :D

Christina's let go of 2 tracks that could've been big for her. <b>"Walk away"</b> would've been better in Milian's hands because I think she has a nicer voice than Paula. She also let Megan Rochell's <b>"The one you need"</b> slip through her fingers. And whilst that song wasn't a huge success for Megan, it was a hot track.

And as for <b>"Play"</b>, Milian's vocals are all over that. The chorus you can hear her clear as day. That song should've gone out as "Jennifer Lopez featuring Christina Milian"!! *lol*

Hey Tom, thanx for the comment. I thought so too when I heard Milian co-wrote it ... She'd dumb for not keeping it to herself, but at least she's making good money out of it now, hee hee. Where's your email?!!! Keep writing :D

I'm pretty sure Walk Away is a spitback from her last or even second album, one of the few songs she did with other producers [besides Cool & Dre], Ne-Yo worked with her on that album [as well as her second] and it was written some time before it dropped, so...technically I don't think she really wrote it for someone else...it's chorus sounds an awful lot like the chorus to Let Go, one of the songs she did with StarGate for her first album...I'm not a big fan of Walk Away, Cold is MUCH better, if you ask me...

Play is probably a different story, I think she even did another song back then with Murlyn as well for another artist, but I can't quite remember...

"Walk away" was a nice track. I don't think Paula's voice is all that, but still it's a nice a track. Ne-Yo and Stargate must be raking in the dough with all these hits they're responsible for!

My fave track off of Paula's album is probably "So cold". I like the beat to "Easy", but I don't like her voice.

Hey Emblematic, thanx for the comment. I'm happy for DeAnda too ... I haven't heard her album yet, but I remember reading on your website that you liked it very much. It didn't get released here in the UAE, but I purchased it online. I'm sure it's worth the money, hee hee. Keep writing :)

I am really glad to hear that her record label is willing to support her even with her album not selling too well. It shows that they think she has potential. I have her album and I think it was one of the best albums of last year. My favorite songs on it were "Footprints on My Heart" "When It Was Me" "Overloved" and "Walk Away"

Hey FM, thanx for the funny comment. Milian surely did co-wrote the song, and FYI, this is not the 1st time she co-wrote a song for another artist, as Jennifer Lopez's PLAY was done by her as well ... Keep writing :)
